journal entry 8: thinking more about connection between life path mumber and moon phase

In my examination of this topic further, I do not believe there is an automatic connection between an individual's life path number and the moon phase they are born under. That is, I don't think that if one has a life path number of 2 that they will necessarily be born closer to, or shortly after, the time of a new moon. I think, the relationship between the life path number and moon phase can be complementary or oppositional, sort of like the different aspects in one's natal chart. I have, like others, natal aspects that support and negate each other. I think that one's life path number can work in mutual support to the moon phase or not. Sort of like the way one's Ascendant sign can work harmoniously with the Sun and/or Moon sign, or not.

journal entry 7: possible link between life path number and moon phase?

I pose this question and would love to hear responses from others who have pondered this question. Do you think there is a connection between an individual's life path number and the moon phase that they were born under? Or, do you think that the moon phase would only be influential in a lunar type individual? I did google this but I didn't find any postings (maybe I didn't search long enough?).

Anyway, my daughter's life path number is a 9, she was born during a Waning Crescent Moon (or the Balsamic Moon). My son's life path number is a 3, he was born during a Waxing Gibbous Moon which is close to the 'midway point' of the Moon's cycles. (I'm not well versed in "moon terminology.") Their dad's life path number is 11/2 and he was born during a full Moon, his Sun was opposite the Moon, he has that aspect in his natal chart. My life path number is 1, I was born during a new Moon, I have Sun conjunct Moon in my natal chart. What is interesting to me, is that I feel like I am constantly learning from my children. My daughter especially; according to incarnation theories, she is nearing the completion of this incarnation cycle. She is so strong and brave. When I feel afraid or unsure of myself in something I know I must do I think of my daughter and how fearless she truly is. It makes me move forward. She makes me brave.

According to interpretations of Moon phases, I notice a link to descriptions of life path numbers. Here's a link at http://www.cafeastrology.com/natal/lunarphases.html that is useful to read. You can google it as well. And here's a link to life path numbers at http://www.astrology-numerology.com/num-lifepath.html which is to the point.

Also, to find your moon phase check here: http://www.kakophone.com/kakorama/EN/astrology-horoscope.php
and then double check here: http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/phase/phases1901.html.

Also, I just had this "aha moment" today and have only checked it against a few charts, about 10, family members of course. Let me know what you find out.

journal entry 6: similarities between parents' and childrens' birth charts

I started learning about astrology, in depth, back around 2006. A friend told me that I had more than just a Sun sign. I knew, like most people, what my Sun sign was (Sagittarius). It totally peaked my curiosity to hear that there was more to it. So, I began my study of it (clumsily, of course).

I didn't have a definite birth time for my own chart but I do for my children. What I found during these last 4 years (by examining celebrity charts) is that children, often share similar aspects as their parents. My daughter, age 10, who reminds me of me when I was younger, shares not only personality aspects with me but also natal aspects. My mother said (not definitely) that I was born "at 6 pm." If so, that gives me an Ascendant of Cancer. My daughter's Ascendant is Cancer. I have 'Saturn conjunct Ascendant,' my daughter has 'Saturn sextile Ascendant.' I have 'Moon conjunct Venus,' as does my daughter. Both our Midheavens are in Pisces. We both have natal contacts between Sun and Mercury, Venus and Uranus, Jupiter and Neptune, Saturn and Midheaven. Now, my son - he has his Sun, Mercury and Mars in Gemini in the 11th house. His dad is a Sun Aquarius and the 11th house is associated Aquarius. My son has a few similar aspects as me and some like his dad, i.e. Sun contacting Mars - his dad has 'Sun square Mars,' my son has 'Sun conjunct Mars.' And they both have 'Mercury trine Uranus.'

My father had a stellium in Leo. I have a stellium in Sag. (Definition of stellium varies, some astrologers say it's 4 planets conjunct in same sign/same house. Others say only 3.) My dad had Moon, Mars, Saturn and Pluto in a tight stellium. My stellium involves Sun, Moon, Mercury and Neptune. My planets are more spaced but all in the same house.

If you have an accurate birth time for you and your children, I am sure you will find similarities in natal aspects. It is interesting.

journal entry 5: my current, significant transit - Uranus square Sun

To those who celebrate Christmas: enjoy the day. Let go of the collateral stresses and remember to relax.

A significant transit currently going on with me right now is Uranus squaring my Sun. And, I am feeling it.

For a complete, detailed run down of Uranus, right-click on the link below.

I feel like I need to do so much but I don't know what to do first. I make lists. I have a notebook/journal that I write in daily. It has my "to do" items, but I have "to do" items from over a year ago that I have yet to check off. I have a severe procrastination problem that I must deal with. (For those of you well versed in Astrology: I have a 6th house stellium, I think. I'm the oldest of 6 and my mom doesn't remember too well what time I was born. When I initially asked her, she said 6am, later that same day she called me and said it was my brother born at 6am and, that I was born at 6pm. I think the 6pm is in the ballpark range because it gives me a Cancer ascendant and I really am a big baby, sometimes. I'm very sensitive, overly so at times. This really clashes with my Sun, Moon, Mercury and Mars in fiery Sagittarius.)

Anyway, we are at the cusp of 2010: HAPPY NEW YEAR TO ALL! May 2010 be the year where all your dreams and goals become your reality through hard work, commitment, dedication, creativity and sustained effort.

Also, I was born during the year of the Tiger. Hey all Tigers, 2010 is the year of the Tiger, according to Chinese Astrology. It is supposed to bode well for us and assist us in accomplishing our aims. Make good use of the energy. I am going to as best I can!

journal entry 4: Michael Jackson

Despite everything he did, was accused of, etc., Michael Jackson will be missed and never forgotten. I grew up listening to him. I had his posters and tapes when I was a kid. As many have already said: there will never be another Michael Jackson. He was gifted, eccentric, a work-a-holic/perfectionist. I looked up his birth chart: his Sun in Virgo, Moon in Pisces. If the birth time is accurate then his Ascendant is Libra and Midheaven is Cancer. That's a lot of water in his chart. In my own opinion, he died of a cardiac arrest caused by his use of heavy drugs. Whether it was intentional or not, we will never know. (Water dominant charts have a tendency to become easily dependent and addicted to drugs/alcohol and need to be cautious of drugs/alcohol.)
I cried when I saw the initial news coverage of the hospital. As others have already said, his death is a reminder to a generation of our own mortality. (dating myself)
He was accused of child molestation and the nation condemned him. I admit, I did too. Again, we do not know what really happened. But, his professional career is one that will probably never be surpassed. His personal life is one that parents and families must learn from, if nothing else. His father was an abusive man, that much we know.

Dear Michael, I hope you are finally at peace.

journal entry 3: Placidus house system vs. Koch house system

Okay, so I just recognized (duh) that there are different house systems and the different house systems can change the position of your planets, etc. According to the Koch house system my north node is in the 5th house, whereas in the Placidus (which I've been using all this time, until now) it's in the 6th house. That really frustrates me. So, if there isn't one accurate house system what are we supposed to really rely on? One website said to go with what really feels more like you. Annoying. Luckily, it didn't change the nodes of my kids' charts. It did place my daughters moon in the 2nd house (which actually sounds more like her) she's very much about money and material items. She's only 9 but at age 6 or 7 she drew this picture of herself working at her desk and in her office space there was a chest full of bags of money. It's a really cute picture. We still have it. I laughed when she told me that it was money in the (many) bags. Well, she's already putting creative visualization to use.

journal entry 2: Are you wondering about the title of the blog?

I chose "Dark as Night" because, usually dark or darkness is seen as a negative. My daughter's name, Laila, pronounced Lay-ee-lah, is Arabic and it means: dark beauty, dark as night. Darkness can be beautiful, soothing, and calming. It is at night, when darkness falls that we (well, most people) rejuvenate our bodies with sleep and rest.
